There is a new latest and greatest version of the free (and awesome) VLC media player is officially available.
It works on PC, Mac, and Linux and can play damn near anything.

I have just downloaded the new version of VLC – have been using an older version troublefree for ages – cannot get new version to play video – has audio. I play avi files through VLC. Can you help?? Many thanks DJ
I can do my best to help you DJ. Are you running on a Mac or Windows? (Version would help too. Windows XP, Vista, etc.)
