Finding Good Restaurants in Unknown Cities

I’m getting on a plane to Boise, Idaho for a friend’s wedding.

I don’t blog about it much, but I’m all about good food.

Typically when I travel I get recommendations from my Father. The man is an exceptional chef, knows his food, and traveled just about everywhere in the United States over the course of his career. However, he hasn’t spent time in Boise, Idaho. So I’m on my own.

When Dad can’t help, I have a backup plan; Guy Fieri. His show Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives covers good and inexpensive eateries all over the States. Since I’m partial to small, hole-in-the-wall restaurants with great food, it works for me.

The show’s website is truly horrid, but they do have a list of all of the restaurants he has frequented (however it’s not organized in any functional manner). I’ve checked the list and pulled out all of the places in Boise, I hope I can make it to one or two while I’m there.

Have a look for yourself, maybe there is an undiscovered gem in your neighborhood.

And if anyone from the Food Network has stumbled upon this post, please get in touch with me, I think your website could greatly benefit from an information architect’s touch.
