AFI Honors George Lucas: William Shatner Sings & Carrie Fisher Roasts

In 2005, the AFI gave George Lucas a lifetime achievement award (in spite of Jar Jar). The ceremony was opened with a musical number by William “Rocket Man” Shatner:

Then Carrie Fisher (if you don’t know who she is, Google it and know that I am disappointed in you) roasted George:

Some other people such as Mark Hamill, Tom Hanks, John Williams, Steven Spielberg, and Robert Duval said nice things about him… but they are kind of boring.

  1. George’s neck is starting to look like Jabba the Hut.

    Giveing “Easy Riders, Raging Bulls” for a very insightful and interestign looking into filmmaking in the ’70s, with a direct look at how George, Steven and Francis Ford Coppola changing the film industry during that stretch.
