Two days ago a posthumous Jimi Hendrix album titled Valleys of Neptune went on sale. The collection of previously unreleased recording somehow slipped past my radar until a few hours ago.

It was really exciting to listen to “new” Hendrix material, because… He’s Jimi Fucking Hendrix! Do I need to explain why it was exciting?

After a one listen I am prepared to tell any fan of Hendrix, or electric blues to just buy this album. You don’t need a full review; it’s Hendrix.

The only commentary I will leave you with is that his aggressive instrumental rendition of Cream’s Sunshine of Your Love is freaking sweet!
