Back in February I wrote this after viewing the second Expendables trailer:
Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Mickey Rourke, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, and Randy Couture, among other action stars gather for a cinematic orgy of explosions, fights, gunfire, and one-liners.
Who needs a plot or character development?
I pretty much hit the nail on the head… Not that it was particularly difficult to predict.
The action was over-the-top, the guns were big, the explosions were huge, the dialogue was laughable, and the plot was paper-thin.
There were one-liners, but I wish there were more. I didn’t walk away from the movie with a funny line stuck in my head.
If you want action, go see it.
