Interpreting Hard Drive Sounds

If a piece of hardware in your computer is going to break, the odds are very good that it’s the hard drive. Hard drives have a lot of moving parts, and those parts move incredibly fast. As a consequence they tend to break, but before they do, they usually make some ugly sounds.

Working in computer repair you learn what sounds are bad, and what sounds mean impending digital doom. Thanks to Data Cent’s library of bad hard drive recordings, you can learn to be a hard drive whisperer without having to experience it first hand.

Hard Drive Sounds
